Job Description Summary

The Process & Product Engineer will be part of a shop product repair engineering team and be responsible for giving technical directions to shop production team by working closely with Repair Engineering team, driving continuous improvement in an effort to reduce product cost, and creating/updating repair work instructions/procedures in order to execute gas turbine component repair.

Job Description

The Process & Product Engineer is responsible for supporting efficient, time-efficient production that meets the safety requirements as well as provide ownership towards a certain engineering processes in. Tracking and monitoring the entire life cycle of the product at repair levels. The chosen candidate will occupy a really close, pragmatic engineering position.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providing daily technical and technological solutions for manufacturing,
  • Drive a continuing cost reduction program through shop-based engineering initiatives or NPI qualification to meet yearly savings target,
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) for new processes such as Chemical Stripping, EDM/CNC Machining by undergoing commissioning, trials, and qualification,
  • Manage and take ownership of assigned processes in certain products to enhance robustness, efficiency, and productivity,
  • Lead engineering aspects for one of the department’s product line,
  • Monitoring of daily production, production of work instructions,
  • Liaise with GE global representatives on each site with regards to each repair requirements,
  • Enhancing efficiency enhancements and new ideas to optimize processes,
  • Participation in the implementation of employee development proposals,
  • Conducting trainings for hourly-paid colleagues,
  • Participation in specification and testing of indirect materials,
  • Collaborates with maintenance, production planning colleague, quality assurance engineers, purchasing, and operations supervisor,
  • Risk analysis in manufacturing processes and implementation of development proposals,
  • Liaise with Repair Technology Engineer to review product non-conformances through Perfection Review (PR) and Non-Conformance Report (NCR), and
  • Engage in Lean Initiatives and AWO (Action Work Out).

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree is a plus) in Engineering (Chemical, Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical, and other relevant disciplines) from a local or internationally reputable university,
  • At least 3-years’ experience on engineering functions in relevant industry is preferred,
  • Knowledge of Gas Turbine components repair will be advantageous,
  • At least intermediate level of active English (daily contact with foreign colleagues) is required,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 is a plus,
  • Experience in Lean Six sigma would be advantageous (but not essential),
  • Experience in AutoCAD or other design software would be advantageous (but not essential), and
  • Willing to stay in Bandung.
