Project Title:
Efficiency Improvement in SMT Automation for Material Preparation
Description:
There are gaps in handling system transaction for material preparation that reduce the work efficiency. This issue is present due to the handling business process is not defined clearly and there are several standards being practiced by users. This project aims to develop the business process of material system transaction that enhance the efficiency of material preparation as part of SMT Automation project.
Scope:
Categorically lay out the differences in practice at all material transaction touch points and provide VSM-like comparison for analysis. The intern is expected to analyze the processes logically and provide recommendation on the best-in-class practice suitable for system transaction business process that enhance the SMT Automation project delivery. The project only considers processes applicable and being practiced at MMP, restricted to SSD, CPG Module and OEM Module product lines. Practices at other sites will not be affected, but the recommendation at the end of the project may be proliferated to other sites if deemed suitable. This project shall provide an extensive knowledge on SMT Automation project and help to strengthen process knowledge for Intern to have a standardized process flow in manufacturing environment.
  • Supporting team:
    • Automation Engineer and technicians, Material Engineer and technicians, Manufacturing Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisors & Trainers.

Deliverables:
  • Deliver process mapping on system transaction for all materials.
  • Characterize the differences in practice and recommend BIC practice for MMP with logical explanation for the recommendation.
  • Update or Create standard operation procedures for MMP to reflect the changes, update FMEA and QCP if applicable.

Stretched goal:
  • Recommend applicable changes to cross-site team members to ensure standardization is achieved between sites.
