You will be based in our Sydney, Jakarta or Tokyo office as part of McKinsey’s global communications team. You will work within a team that advises on and manages reputation risks across the lifecycle of a potential issue, from early internal decision-making through management of live matters. You will work collaboratively with a range of colleagues including media relations, public affairs, legal and consulting teams.
You will work in collaboration with the Head of Reputation Risk for Asia, regional leadership, communications colleagues as well as our client facing teams within our global practices, offices and growth platforms.
What You'll Do
You will help the firm navigate, manage, mitigate and prevent reputational risks in a large region which covers six major sub-regional markets across South East Asia, Asia-Pacific and India.
In this role, you will identify potential risks and be responsible for regularly developing communications including, but not limited to, memos, briefing papers and scenario planning materials, working collaboratively with a range of colleagues. You will also maintain an acute understanding of the external environment - both within Asian markets and globally - and understand how current events might intersect with the firm’s reputation and risk profile. You will conduct regular research to contribute to risk assessments and strategic planning efforts.
In addition, you will help review a range of content produced by the firm including insights for publishing on external channels such as McKinsey.com or op-eds as well as certain client deliverables. You will advise on communications-related benefits and risks to a range of proactive initiatives such as research collaborations, storytelling about the firm’s work and co-branding. You will also contribute to global efforts aimed at constantly improving the team’s own operations and the broader firm-wide approach, resources and tools for managing reputation risk.
You will have strong project management skills and an ability to work efficiently across multiple projects simultaneously and with many internal stakeholders.
