Job Description

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Job Summary

Manufacturing support such as: review engineering drawings, BOM and procedures to maintain routing for shop floor processes. Engage in tender process through preparation of cost estimation based on man hours and fixtures. Manage to order placement for new consumables.
Tooling design: Design of tools and fixtures with the maintenance of tooling design file.
Provide technical support & planning for new assembly to include tooling readiness, review HRA/JHA on assembly related activities.
System support such as: prepare & maintain work instructions for shop. Plan and carry out internal shop audits to ensure compliance to process requirements. Engage in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive measures for reports with regards to FPR (Field Performance Report) and CPAR. Organize training materials/modules and train technicians for task competency. Involve in equipment (tools, pumps, hoses, etc.) repair & preventive maintenance arrangement with vendor.
Technician support such as: engage in defect analysis, repair and recovery for NCR (Non-conformance Report) jobs. Includes rework routing and counselling/interview with involved technician to come up with preventive measures. Streamline and improve assembly & testing methods. Liaise with engineering and shop technicians for troubleshooting.
Safety coordinator: review safety procedures. Involve in HRA reviews for assembly and testing processes. Investigates any safety related incidents and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. Sits in the safety committee and involve in safety audits.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Minimum Diploma degree in mechanical engineering / manufacturing engineering
Advance knowledge of engineering principles in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, including assembly and testing
PC literate - Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Access)
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Must have good working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Inventor 3D modelling
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Lean manufacturing practitioner
Familiar with SAP
Proficient in English
