Job Description

PURPOSE
  • Responsible for the adidas Group tooling management throughout all designated Operation Centers with focus on lead time and quality
  • Drive implementation of adidas-Group innovation technologies, efficiency improvement projects and business process changes in all Operation Centers
  • Prepare, organize and coordinate Basic and Advanced Technical Trainings in Operation Centers

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES Tooling Management:
  • Involve general tooling issue nhu tooling guideline, tooling training, coach new tooling manager from other OC if they need support etc.
  • Manage the adidas Group tooling business for all dedicated mold suppliers with main targets to improve cost competitiveness, overall mold lead time and right-first-time mentality
  • Drive the continuous improvement of all adidas Group mold suppliers in terms of business sustainability, technological capability, data security and reliability
  • Manage the adidas Group mold shop lean initiative by creating, establishing and managing necessary tools for performance evaluation and data management
  • Drive positive mindset in mold suppliers to shorten tooling creation & manufacturing lead time with the continuous implementation of Lean Manufacturing and suitable forecasting & planning tools
  • Ensure adherence with mold business related adidas Group policies, standards & guidelines
  • Support adidas CI team from PCT side in the mold shop lean program

Product Creation Technologies:
  • Develop and implement tooling and manufacturing technologies that improve efficiency and consistency (e.g. development process, assembly processes, bonding systems, trimming stations, etc.) of the footwear development and manufacturing process in collaboration with selected T1, T2, LO and Machine Vendors
  • Support LO, T1 & T2 teams on technical and tooling related issues
  • Support Regional PCT & Tooling, Asia on creation of PCT documentations, implement and provide operations feedback to enhance existing best practices, policies, guidelines and other process standards
  • Maintain and enhance tooling data security
  • Support the VR manager in 3D CAD software and process innovations
  • Enhance and implement the adidas Technical Data Management System

Technical Training:
  • Manage Regional Technical Training Initiative throughout the Region
  • Prepare, organize and update Technical Training Documentation and maintain relationships with external Experts / Trainers
  • Coach local PCT and LO teams in technical knowledge, readily available and new technologies and processes and enable them to assist planning (mold disposal & mold transfer processes), costing (tooling allowance...) and other relevant departments
  • Create, administrate and facilitate visitor schedules, manage timelines and relationships with both visitors and T1s / component suppliers

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
  • Maintain collaborative partnerships with internal partners (PCT, HQ, management, LO and OC functions) and external partners (T1s, mold shops)

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong project management knowledge and skill
  • Verbal and written communication skills in a global business setting in English. Verbal communication in Mandarin is of great advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tooling design, engineering, mold making and manufacturing, CAD, CAM and RP.
  • Good technical footwear knowledge of product construction and manufacturing methods
  • Good knowledge in Lean manufacturing and process automation
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal, BULATS level 3 or equivalent

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • University or College degree
  • At least 5 years in the athletic footwear industry that includes Product Development, Engineering, Technical Service and Production.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and database understanding)
