Who are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced Project Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. This Project Management Accountant role will be supporting our Singapore and Hong Kong office. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that sa.global efficiently and seamlessly invoices and gets paid by the clients for the services provided to them. In order to do this, the Project Managers (PMs) require a level of administrative support in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 system to complete set-up tasks, and they require help monitoring the input from consultants, sub-contractors, and other data from intercompany sources. Finance also requires support in this process to ensure that the PMs are fully enabling finance to complete their tasks.

The project accountant position is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving timesheets, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected.

Main Responsibilities

  • Directly support PMs in the full Project Life Cycle as follows:
    • Ensure that project documentation is stored on SharePoint
    • Send timesheets to PMs (and customers) for monthly T&M billing and reporting
    • Ensure milestone billing projects are invoiced in accordance with project schedules
    • Support PMs with project setup in Dynamics 365 including sales prices, manage work breakdown structures (activities), and assign resources
    • Look into expense management
    • Produce project invoice proposal for PMs to approve
    • Reconcile client sales invoices to ‘actual’ hours
    • Compile all expenses to be billed to the customer if the customer requires a backup of the expense entries
    • Make timesheet adjustments where justifiable
  • Directly support finance as follows:
    • Manage WIP to ensure that billing is maximized each month
    • Reconcile WIP with revenue recognition rules and project status on a monthly basis
    • Check all project cost invoices and, where required manage, invoice values against PO, ensuring that invoices do not exceed the PO value
    • Reconcile expenses ensuring that costs received are billed to the customer
    • Issue 3rd party and ICO Billing
    • Review customer statements and escalate to PMs when there are overdue amounts
  • Interact with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Ongoing commitment to continuous professional development; completing relevant certifications in a timely manner when necessary
  • Always represent the business professionally and positively

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamic 365 Finance & Operations, reporting tools, and Excel
  • Quick learner
  • Good communicator
  • Tenacious
  • Commercial awareness; can challenge unbilled time
  • Have experience working in a multi-national company with consultants in different time zones and locations
  • Have experience working in a service and or software field would be a bonus
  • Organized
  • Prioritize and work on multiple issues at one time
  • Possess knowledge of IFRS 15 / SFRS 115 revenue recognition criteria
  • Have experience in standard best practices and apply them in operational practices
  • Possess fundamental tax knowledge and compliance for operational purposes
  • Must have bachelor’s degree at the minimum, preferably in finance, accounting business, and information technology or equivalent professional qualification
