Job Description

Alibaba Infrastructure Services is currently expanding our overseas infrastructure management team in an effort to grow our international footprint. Candidates must have a strong, technical understanding of Data Centers, operational excellence and a willingness to innovate in a constantly evolving environment. This role is unique in the sense that they will not only be staffing and managing data centers around the world but they will play a crucial part of improving and implementation of cutting edge technology on behalf of Alibaba’s global presence. 1. Responsible for day-to-day operation of Alibaba's overseas data center infrastructure, IT equipment and construction/expansion of data centers. 2. Formulate and improve the existing overseas data center operation and maintenance processes to ensure business availability (SLA) under the premise of achieving the best industry practices 3. Coordination of external suppliers to ensure a sustainable supply and delivery of resources to meet current and future business expansion plans 4. Responsible for managing the outsourced resources of the facility and pods that include the ability to meet or exceed the SLA standard stipulated in the contract 5. Understand the requirements of 24x7 on-site support and continue to improve overseas operational processes, methods and tools 6. Ensure the facilities are compliant with regulations and safety policies
1. Bachelor degree or above in a computer science or engineering discipline 2. More than 5 years of overseas large-scale data center on-site operating experience 3. Familiar with data center power, machinery, fire, control system 4. Willingness to learn more about IT infrastructure areas such as server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, networking equipment, technologies and architectures, IT service delivery principles and best practices 5. Self-motivated and self-management ability, with strong problem analysis and crisis thinking experience 6. Understanding of Data Center construction process and capacity planning management 7. Familiar with the servers, network equipment, hardware installation, maintenance, troubleshooting processes and methods 8. Accommodates regular international travel (travel time approx. 30%) 9. Ability to communicate in Chinese 10. Proven project delivery ability 11. Self starter who demonstrates the ability to innovate, proactively tackles solutions and takes initiative on projects 12. Excellent verbal and written communication
