With the adoption of the 2030 Agenda - a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity - UN Member States including Indonesia pledged to ensure “no one will be left behind” and to “endeavor to reach the furthest behind first”. Under the leadership of the UN Resident Coordinator (RC), the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Indonesia (23 Agencies, Funds and Programmes and Non-Resident Agencies with more than 1,000 personnel) currently provide policy advice, technical support and knowledge sharing on a host of development priorities, outlined in the current UN 5-year Strategy in Indonesia entitled the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2021–2025. This also includes ongoing support of multi-stakeholder responses for COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia to recover better without leaving no one behind.
As the principal source of information about the United Nations system in the countries where they are located, the UN Information Centre (UNIC) supports the RC and the UNCT to promote greater public understanding of the aims and activities of the United Nations by communicating result on the work of the Organisation to a wider audience. This includes the daily updates on communications in all of three UN in Indonesia social media channels (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook) as well as the weekly updates on the UNCT’s website.
The UN Information Centre is looking for a Digital Communications Support who is able to support the UN in Indonesia’s digital communications endeavor, including supporting in the planning and strategizing of the digital communication strategy, implementation of campaigns and coordination with partners. The digital media expert will produce content for different social media channels, monitor performance, will support the team in design and implementation of digital communication campaigns, including online media plans for promotions. Some of the main campaigns the incumbent will be involved in will be the Climate Action campaign, the Verified campaign and the ongoing COVID-19 response work.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesLocalising/repurposing UN global initiatives or SG’s priorities to fit better national context - in view of UN`s Cooperation Framework with local government - UNSDCF - and in the spirit of multilingualism. This includes advocacy on SG’s climate action, among others
Developing local collaboration with identified key opinion leaders, public figures, influencers¿to expand partnership on Verified (UN’s campaign to fight misinformation) with a dedicated focus on a geographical spread throughout the country
Ensuring UN global narratives are incorporated (and adapted to the local context) in the UN Communications Group endeavour, especially on joint digital communications outreach
Contributing primarily to the UN in Indonesia’s website content update – including in Bahasa Indonesia
Assisting with research and performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Remuneration range: Monthly (22 working days): Rp.13,000,000 – Rp.14,000,00 – depending on the qualifications and work experience (USD 912 – 982)
Monthly payment based on time sheets and approval by UNIC Director (Officer-in-Charge).
