Senior Quality Inspector (Mechanical) - ( 2202479 )

Job Overview:

Coordinating all inspection activities being undertaken in their allocated area.

 Ensuring allocated inspectors are aware of quality requirements and are in possession of or have access to latest revision of project inspection and test plan.

 Ensuring that non-destructive testing is performed in timely manner and material traceability is recorded and submitted progressively to certification section.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • 1. Surveillance and witness of pump alignment activity using laser and dial indicator.
  • 2. Checking the gap clearance/parallelism of the flange pipe after been repaired by piping construction in accordance with project spec requirement.
  • 3. Witnessed fit-up and monitoring welding preparation and checking the welding process is follow the correct welding procedure standard and accordance with the spec requirement.
  • 4. Checking and witnessed for pressure testing (hydrotest).
  • 5. Inspected and reviewed of material receiving of mechanical equipment based on ITP and refers to Purchase Order (P.O), Delivery Order (D.O), and General Drawing and reported to the Field Engineer and Client and give the feedback to the vendor.
  • 6. Inspection of mechanical equipment installation in accordance with client spec and ITP.
  • 7. Inspection and checking the equipment installation preparation such as DC, Leveling, Support installation, etc.
  • 8. Verified the material certificate and material traceability during MVR Material Verification Report prior to fit up and give the feedback to the production engineering.
  • 9. Initiate evaluations of non-conforming items and report them accordingly.
  • 10. Liaise with QC/NDT//Certification/Welding Engineering and customer to ensure quality problems are addressed and technically resolved.
  • 11. Appraise product quality in accordance with the Project Quality plan, ITP and determine conformity and non-conformity.
  • 12. All inspection results need to be documented and if non-conformity exist, documentation should be raised to establish corrective action including root cause analysis (as deemed necessary)
  • 13. Provide interpretation of applicable codes specifications and customer requirements. Any deviation, clarification and waivers are to be documented through TDRQ
  • 14. Coordinate Interface with operations, CA, Client and Subcontractor assuring conformity to specifications.
  • 15. Verify QC Inspectors effectiveness though random audit on CIRs, Pipe mills, side works, etc.
  • 16. Exercise proactive approach in prevention of a problem by interfacing with production, engineers and management personnel.
  • 17. Liaise with customer representative for ensuring conformity and stage release for each activity denoted with the Project Quality Plan and ITP.
  • 18. Prepared daily activities report.
  • 19. High standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conduct.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 3-year Diploma in Technical Engineering. Preferred : BSC in Mechanical
  • 10+ years Quality control or related experience in Weld, Paint, Material Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunication and Equipment Inspection
