Job description


Are you a curious Production Engineer? Continuously looking for solutions and ideas on how to create more from less? Do you enjoy working across countries and turning the multi-cultural potential into pure energy? We are looking for you, if you have a strong drive to make things happen together with our teams and supplying partners, working with the IKEA range in South East Asia – Textile Furnishings Team (Filled Products, Mattresses, Comfort Seating, Carpets).

Key tasks:

  • Responsibility for Quality Assurance including securing process control for key processes in production at suppliers.
  • Securing implementation of new and updated requirements at suppliers and sub suppliers to secure full compliance to IKEA requirements.
  • Leading product development, implementation, audits and production risk assessments.
  • Supplier development in the Engineering and Quality area, according to IKEA Supplier Operating Standard (ISOS).
  • Identification, implementation and execution of Supplier Development Process (SDP) quality and manufacturing improvement projects, together with suppliers.
  • Proactive effort to improve Customer Experienced Product Quality and solve Quality problems, with the highest sense of urgency.
  • Contribution to improvements in production processes, packaging, and product functionality.
  • Final inspections and regular follow up and feedback to the suppliers regarding quality performance.
  • Evaluation of potential new supplier’s production facilities and quality systems.

As a Production Engineer, you will secure and support the engineering and quality agenda with the overall goal to improve the customer satisfaction. Furthermore, you will be the main contact towards the suppliers for Engineering and Quality topics. As part of the business team, you will work with suppliers to: develop and secure the production process, handle quality deviations and secure compliance to all IKEA requirements.


Qualification


  • You have chemical or production engineering background
  • You understand quality assurance and quality development processes & tools
  • You have experience with product development and industrialization of new products “on the factory floor”
  • You are familiar with product and production risk assessment
  • You are familiar with testing lab business environment & ways of working
  • You have ability to solve problems, take decisions and navigate through complex technical issues with a holistic view
  • You have practical experience with lean tools
  • You have the energy to improve things (proven record of implementing process / product improvements)
