As our Head of Merchant Integrations, you’ll take the wheel in leading the Midtrans Merchant Integration team in providing world-class technical support to our family of merchant-partners. On a daily basis, you’ll oversee our payment plugins, resolve technical integration issues, and execute integration engineering end-to-end - from high-level architecture to code implementation. Additionally, as a manager, you’ll focus on developing careers, providing mentorships for your direct reports, setting long term roadmaps, measuring success metrics, and sharing best practices within the team. Your efforts will ultimately ensure our merchant-partners are given the world-class, enjoyable experience they deserve whenever they utilize our platform.
What You Will Do
Manage and develop Midtrans Merchant Integration Team in providing world-class technical support to our merchant-partners while building the team’s capability and expertise on the field
Support our Business teams in educating our merchant-partners on the ins and outs of the Midtrans platform
Plan and execute the integration engineering end-to-end, from high-level architecture down to code implementation
Create technical content to demonstrate how to implement specific use cases or best practices to our merchant-partners
Work together with Business, Ops and Product & Engineering to solve merchant-partner integration issues
Understand and analyze various merchant-partner insights/issues in order to provide effective recommendations to improve their experience on our platform
Work closely with the internal cross-functional leaders in developing business-wide operational strategies
Communicate frequently with our merchant-partner family to keep them updated on technical best practices and new technical developments, while capturing their feedback about Midtrans to further enhance their integration experience
What You Will Need
At least 3 years of experience working in technical engineering (or a related field) with at least 2 years experience leading a technical team
Strong technical generalist with a drive to solve whatever issues are presented to you
Strong knowledge of PHP (i.e Laravel, Yii, CodeIgniter) and experience in building PHP-based plugins for popular e-commerce platforms (e.g. WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento) is a plus
Experience with front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
Strong understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
Experience as a consultant will be a huge plus in order to exhibit the necessary presentation skills, to communicate effectively with our merchant-partners, and provide solutions to whatever issues they may put on the table

Our Payments team oversees GoPay (Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing consumer payments and financial services app), as well as Midtrans (one of Indonesia’s largest payment gateways), and Spots (Indonesia’s largest offline network for payments).
Our Merchant Payments team is part of the larger Payments platform, and consists of passionate engineers based in Jakarta, Singapore, and Gurgaon. We run Southeast Asia’s leading financial platform for online and onsite merchants. It's our job to oversee all things related to empowering business owners, and to create a seamless and efficient payment gateway solution. We also take the time to understand our merchant-partners daily concerns and experiences in order to cater our services to resolve any hurdles and expand their operations. The big question that we’re always trying to solve is: How can we better improve our digital experience for our merchants-partners.
We've helped simplify payments for over 300,000 merchant-partners in our respective regions - from retail stores in town to your favorite Gorengan and Martabak stalls. But, the growth of Payments does not stop here. We are hungry for more. We intend to become the largest payment and financial services group in Southeast Asia. We are working on several projects now, including one about enhancing direct interaction with our merchant-partners of a variety of businesses and their customers.
