HR MANAGER, INDONESIA

Are you a highly-motivated HR professional who can demonstrate experience across the whole spectrum of people processes, from hiring to exit? We are looking for a service-oriented HR Manager to join our winning team to support our business in Asia Pacific.

You will be reporting to the Director, Asia Pacific HR Operations in Thailand and working closely together with our Asia Pacific HR team in different countries as well as with local business management. Your primary location will be Valmet office in Cikarang Indonesia.

You’ll be a trusted advisor to our business, managing all operational HR processes compliantly. You are also involved in strategic HR projects and tasks. You are confident with daily HR routines and seek to add value to our businesses. You enjoy advising line managers on employment legislation, planning recruitment campaigns, conducting interviews as well as supporting managers in people processes such as recruiting and annual performance reviews.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Advising in all employee relations including labour legislation related matters from hiring to exit, ensuring compliance with various regulations and company policies and providing advice to line managers in employment matters
  • Resource planning with managers, recruitment and selection, redundancy and restructuring activities
  • Managing salary reviews, bonus programs and local benefits according to company policies and local legislation, providing local expertise to salary surveys and C&B development
  • Planning and implementing competence development activities to support professional development and the competitiveness of the organization
  • Driving Valmet people processes (e.g. performance and development reviews, employment satisfaction surveys, successor planning) in your responsibility area
  • Maintaining HRIS data in Workday and ensuring data quality as well as payroll compliance
  • Facilitating a good work culture, driving employee engagement and welfare and handling performance management cases and staff grievances
  • Developing our leadership culture proactively, together with our line managers
  • Promoting established Health and Safety practices and standards and ensuring the organization complies with them

Requirements:

You know how to select the best employees from the market, and your keen eye for detail will ensure our payroll is managed successfully and our HR data accurate. Your knowledge of employment legislation is second to none and you understand how to manage even the more challenging elements of the HR role. You balance a friendly and open nature with strong negotiating and influencing skills so that you always get the job done.

To succeed in this role you have:

  • Post graduate level diploma in HR or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or higher)
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices in Indonesia
  • Experience working with employee relations in blue collar environment
  • Enthusiasm to manage various operational tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Experience working in a HR Manager or HR Generalist role supporting a global business
  • Solid experience in recruiting various kinds (incl. engineering) of roles
  • Knowledge and experience in all people processes across the employment lifecycle
  • Good negotiation skills and a persistent attitude to getting things done
  • Fluent communication, presentation and facilitation skills in English and in Bahasa
  • Demonstrable understanding of standard HR metrics e.g. headcount, C&B costs, turnover, operational reporting (e.g. sickness and absence) and understanding the importance of data quality in our HR systems
  • Relevant office IT skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally
