Goal of the function:

Controls and leads the purchasing on the basis of its target agreements with the General Manager so that
  • the procurement of technical products, materials and services is guaranteed to be of appropriate quality, in the right quantity at the right time and at low cost;
  • the supplier management / supplier development is strategically controlled and coordinated.


Tasks:

  • Supplier management and supplier development;
  • The agreements / contracts with the suppliers;
  • Securing capacities at suppliers;
  • Market analysis, market observation and benchmarking;
  • The result-oriented control of the process using a key figure system as well as for the early initiation of measures in the event of deviations;
  • Agreements with internal customers;
  • Strategic further development of the purchasing process;
  • Budget planning and cost center responsibility;
  • The procurement and support of external tools and equipment;
  • The reduction of material costs;
  • The coordination, leadership and development of the employees within the department;
  • Identification of risks and initiation of measures;
  • Early information to management and all related processes in the event of target deviations, problems and risks;
  • Manages processes of certification requirements and continous improvement
  • Implementation of sourcing guidelines;
  • Planning of budget and savings.
Management tasks:
  • Planning and controlling the achievement of goals;
  • Act as a role model in relation to his function or as a manager;
  • The coordination, management and development of the employees who report directly to him.


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Technical education, business administration / commercial professional qualification (bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
  • Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience, including 2 years in a management position in the automotive industry;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Good project management skills;
  • Basic knowledge of contract law;
  • Very good knowledge of SAP;
  • Microsoft Office – advanced knowledge;
  • Negotiation language – English;
  • Knowledge of automotive core tools;
  • Basic business knowledge or basics in finance;
  • Knowledge of the automotive regulations IATF 16949;
  • Motivating, communicative;
  • Analytical, conceptual, strategic, and comprehensive ability to think and act;
  • Assertive (conflict capable);
  • Customer, team and implementation-oriented.
