IFF is a global leader in food, beverage, health, biosciences, and sensorial experiences. We are now seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual to join our Operations function as Flavors Operations Director, Indonesia.



Your Focus
As Flavors Operations Director, you will lead and direct the manufacturing operations of IFF Indonesia Karawang Plant such that operations are safe, efficient, effective, environmentally compliant and conducted in accordance with corporate policy and direction, in compliance with relevant local regulations.



The role will see you direct all operational activities of IFF Indonesia to ensure that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Ensuring that the manufacturing operations support IFF’s business goals of safety, quality, cost and service by meeting customer expectations. You will lead, motivate and coach Operations team for best practices to achieve excellent results.



You will have a seat in the country Executive Committee team, a leadership team responsible to lead and manage the day to day running of IFF Indonesia.
This is a Karawang, Indonesia based role, reporting into VP Operations, Flavors, Greater Asia.

How you will Contribute and Lead

EHS

  • Promote, maintain and ensure compliance with company policies and directives on the protection of the occupational health and safety and environment.
  • Accountable for the site’s performance in the areas of the environment, health, safety and sustainability in accordance with company policies and directives.

Supply Chain

  • Direct and control supply chain operations.
  • Ensure order fulfilment activities are planned and conducted in a manner which enables the site to service customers in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Lead and promote continuous improvement activities and initiatives by reviewing and improvement of processes and the elimination of non-value added activities.
  • Ensure that on-time delivery is achieved and Customers’ expectations on standards and requested delivery lead time are met.
  • Oversee inventory management including good control of obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
  • Oversee the procurement of the equipment and raw materials to ensure that they meet with IFF quality and delivery lead time.
  • Oversee warehouse and distribution to ensure cost efficiency and effectiveness.

Manufacturing

  • Direct and control manufacturing to ensure that finished goods of the required standard are available to customers within agreed costs and at the right times.
  • Oversee and manage the safety and hygiene of the manufacturing facility to provide a safe and clean working environment and to meet the GMP and IFF safety standards.
  • Continuously improve production supply process to increase capacity utilization.
  • Oversee proper Preventive Maintenance and other maintenance activities.

Quality

  • Oversee the Quality system and process to ensure the consistency of the quality in both raw materials and products.
  • Promote and implement quality behavior in people.
  • Oversee the whole production and warehouse process to ensure optimum quality and meet GMP, AIB and HACCP standards.
  • Ensure full traceability for all Raw Materials and Finished Goods.
  • Together with site Quality Manager, manage Customer Complaints, root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.

Manufacturing Expense

  • Develop and control operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial KPIs.
  • Continuously seek cost optimization, balancing throughput, inventory and manufacturing expense.

Operations Leadership and Management

  • Maintain working relationships with all other functions in the company to ensure effective co-ordination of all company activities in support of corporate objectives.
  • Evaluate overall company performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Act as the company’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.
  • Develop the Site Master plan (5-year outlook) for required capacity and budget requirements; annually prepare the Operations Capital Budget; prepare Capital requests and manage capital projects
  • Develop the Operations Plan based on Operational targets and capital Budget.

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

  • A degree or equivalent and relevant professional qualifications.
  • 7-10 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Food manufacturing, Chemical or Food Ingredients multinational industry background.
  • Strong knowledge and implementation experience in GMP/HACCP.
  • Proven track record of extensive Operations management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles eg, Supply Chain, Customer service value chain etc.
  • Ability to effectively influence and motivate others, and collaborate effectively with all levels, with demonstrated ability as a change agent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge in SAP, ERP.
  • Willingness to travel (post COVID).
