Job Overview:

Over-all responsibility is project execution of Senior Quality Ops Specialist procedures activities.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Report day to day activities to Yard NDT Manager/Yard Quality manager & Project quality managers when required.
  • Ensuring written non-destructive testing procedures based on project specifications are prepared and available to execute project's Non-Destructive Test requirements in timely manner.
  • Ensure that the written non-destructive procedures (VT, MT, PT, UT,PAUT, ET and RT) based on project specification are prepared and approved as a level III and that documents are properly distributed and implemented.
  • Provide any technical bid clarifications and input as and when required.
  • Ensure project NDT specification are issued to the NDT provider/subcontractor for logistical readiness on resource, personnel, equipment and consumables.
  • Ensure adequacy of NDT personnel qualifications of the NDT subcontractor according to local and international requirement and project specification.
  • Ensure the revision of project specific NDT procedures.
  • Participate and provide inputs/reports for any investigative weld joint and their repairs on case by case basis.
  • Ensuring Non-Destructive Test measuring & inspection equipment, are periodically calibrated and maintaining records of those calibration.
  • Coordinating non-destructive testing of welds to determine whether they meet established quality standards and taking appropriate action in cases of non-conformances.
  • Assisting the Construction Quality Manager or his designee in resolving any disputes relating to nondestructive testing which may arise between PT. McDermott Indonesia. the Customer, the subcontractor & the third-party inspector.
  • Coordinating with Non-Destructive Test subcontractors to ensure that sufficient personnel are available in the relevant areas to undertake Non-Destructive Test and report in a timely manner as well as ensuring Non-Destructive Test records are maintained.
  • Monitoring of Non-Destructive Test results & review of the results along with customers and 3rd party inspectors and enduring that NDT subcontractor is working according to agreed priorities.
  • Perform NDT cross checks and ensure robust process in place and maintaining a process-audit register.
  • Review/approval of Non-Destructive Test procedures and technician qualifications.
  • Budgeting and maintaining Non-Destructive Test project consumable stock & inventory.
  • Compliance of safe working practice, quality, productivity and the code of business conduct.
  • Vocal point for all NDT related activities, perform audits, conduct meetings as required.
  • Directly assess and evaluate NDT activities during fabrication. Participate in preparing and implementing site surveillance program to assess NDT related progress and verify NDT is in accordance with client approved specs.
  • Review NDT reports/results and documentation issued by NDT subcontractor. Coordinated NDT surveillance activities through the supply chain and coordinate NDT activities during construction stage on a day to day basis. Participate in weekly meetings and issue of weekly NDT reports and KPIs as required.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Certified NDT Level III holder (however if sufficient hands-on experience in PAUT & cross checking, client will allow)
  • Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience
  • Education Diploma
