As a Database Engineer, you will lead the development of OLTP and OLAP databases of 8x8 CPaaS division for customers around the globe.
Job description: We are looking for an experienced Database engineer to increase the quality and performance of our backend platforms as well as our Analytics infrastructure. As a Database engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team where you will be responsible for key databases of 8x8 CPaaS division. To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who can not only code but also brings significant value on architectural decisions to ensure the development of reliable and high-quality services.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work as part of an engineering team to create efficient, flexible, and scalable databases
  • Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, and functions of highly transactional DB
  • Perform tuning optimization to improve Database performance
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to bring data to our consolidated Analytics structure
  • Design and implement Reports for data analysis across the organization
  • Troubleshoot database related issues in a timely fashion
  • Develop best practices for database design and development activities
  • Ensure data quality and integrity in databases
  • Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements
  • Produce ad-hoc queries and data extrapolation to support business needs

Desired Skills and experience:

  • 5 or more years of database development experience
  • Experience in MS SQL Server is required
  • Data warehousing experience is preferred
  • Solid understanding of relational database modeling concepts
  • Proficient in TSQL performance tuning techniques
  • Development work utilizing SQL Server TSQL enhancements is an advantage
  • PowerBI experience is an advantage
  • DBA experience is an advantage

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is required
