A Tender Manager (Electrics) job has just become available at a multinational electric company.

About the Tender Manager (Electrics) Role:
The Tender Manager (Electrics) role will require you to be accountable for preparing quotations for customer projects by utilising advanced and technical expertise on large, complex projects. Analyse complex/multi-technology RFQs (request for quotation) with the ability to draft amendments during the influence phase.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate (or acquire) extensive knowledge of SE products, equipment and solutions
  • Communicate with customers and consultants to determine project requirements
  • May under delegation of Sales Manager take over the Opportunity Leader role. Can be in a customer facing role
  • Determine current and future customer needs and provide quotations for optimum delivery based on plant capacity and customer requirements
  • Review customer specifications/drawings to ensure quote is technically compliant and competitive
  • Understand, analyse, document and compare contractual, technical and commercial terms and conditions relative to the company standard terms and achieve internal alignment with subject-matter experts
  • Define tender internal strategy and lead tender team (potentially remote and international) of SMEs (logistic, technical, purchasing, site works, contract, etc.)
  • Prepare on-time commercial offers optimising the costs, minimising the risks and meeting customer expectations to overtake the competition
  • Master all aspects of the offer: technical proposal, purchasing, all contractual aspects, control risks, commercial environment, cash flow, etc.
  • Serve as a peer expert for proposal questions including complex technical issues and bid strategies
  • Prepare for and drive tender reviews including P&L summary, risk and opportunity analysis, cash flow, etc.
  • Capture comments from authorised approvers/SMEs and amend offers accordingly
  • Initiate tender approval workflow and obtain approvals as per correct DoA
  • Submit complete offers and on time with no rejection for administrative reasons
  • Follow up on outstanding quotation to secure orders, improve quotation process and measure effectiveness
  • Communicate to group, the importance of using new tools and technology to improve efficiency
  • Lead reviews before signing (in case of availability of draft contract) and reassess as sold margin
  • Prepare and lead project handing over to the execution team
  • Monitor and review the performance of tendering process through preassigned KPIs monitor margin deviation (vs. validated)

To be successful in this Tender Manager (Electrics) role, you will need to be experienced in bid/proposal position across APAC region in oil and gas, utilities, data centre and transport market segments.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical/electronics)
  • 10 or more years of experience in bid/proposal position across APAC region in oil and gas, utilities, data centre and transport market segments
  • Solid understanding of electric MV-LV-automation solutions to be able to drive optimisations and provide cost effective solutions
  • Ability to be customer facing
