Job Description

  • Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control (ie. ideal Calendar Days of Inventory, minimized write off exposure and good OTIF), shipment and delivery, warehousing, or receiving/returns on product.
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Manages and monitors vendor's qualification and Distributor performance to ensure they meet company's requirements.
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
  • Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
  • Design, implement, or oversee product take back or reverse logistics programs to ensure products are recycled, reused, or responsibly disposed.
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  • Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution, storage, or inventory.
  • Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help related management understand the supply and logistics perspective.
  • Build relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers or distributors.
  • Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements.
  • Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of team.
