OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:
Globally, the new Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) roadmap was developed with ambitious targets to be reached by 2030 for all NTDs. WHO continues to facilitate Preventive Chemotherapy (PCT) and Multi-Drug Therapy (MDT) medicines donation to Ministry of Health (MoH) Indonesia to contribute in achieving disease eradication, elimination, and control goals. To monitor achievements towards these ambitious targets from subnational to national level, a robust health information system is needed for surveillance, recording and reporting, and programme monitoring and evaluation. A high-quality data system, and analysis of data are also necessary to plan drug distribution programmes, from the estimation of population at risk and number of treatments needed, to monitoring of implementation, health outcomes, and appropriate resource utilization.
SUMMARY OF ASSIGNED DUTIES:
Technical Support
Under the direct supervision of Medical Officer Communicable Diseases as well as in coordination/collaboration with the Ministry of Health, and also broad guidance of the WHO Representative to Indonesia, the incumbent will work as follows:
Management Support
The SSA holder works intensively with NTDs Programme WHO Country Office for Indonesia and Sub-Directorate of Neglected Diseases and responds to any queries from WHO-SEARO, WHO-HQ, and donors/partners as needed by programmes.
The SSA holder attends relevant meetings as facilitator, organizer, or other relevant functions relevant to its scope of work. She/ he also does consultations and discussions with Sub- Directorate of Neglected Diseases and relevant partners when necessary.
To enable to work efficiently and effectively, the SSA holder should refer to available documents relevant to provide necessary technical assistances for WHO and Ministry of Health.
This document will serve as a reference and documentation for WHO and National Programmes, and one of performance evaluation tools.

Essential: Bachelor’s degree in public health, biostatistics, health science or related field from a recognized university

Other Skills (e.g. IT): Work is performed in normal working environment.
