To assist the Ministry of Health of Indonesia and other relevant partners in the development and implementation of national programmes for Nutrition.
Under the direct supervision of the Team Lead, NCDs and Healthier Populations, and the overall guidance of the WHO Representative, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
1. Collaborate closely with concerned government counterparts - including those working in nutrition, noncommunicable diseases, maternal and child health, and family health, to advance progress on national nutrition targets, commitments of the Rome Declaration, Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 3, and deliver on WHO's Thirteenth General Programme of Work (GPW13), and relevant triple billion goals/targets;
2. Provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and other ministries to mobilize and coordinate action across sectors to improve population nutrition status;
3. Support the development and dissemination of technical guidelines for the health and social sectors to improve nutrition across the life-course, with a focus on maternal and childhood nutrition (including breastfeeding, wasting, stunting, micronutrient deficiencies and childhood obesity), nutrition needs of adolescents, adults and older persons, particularly related to noncommunicable disease prevention;
4. Provide technical assistance and leadership for implementation of the Regional Strategic Action Plan to reduce the double burden of malnutrition in South-East Asia 2016-2025;
5. Provide technical advice on the delivery of essential nutrition actions in primary health care as part of Universal Health Coverage;
6. Advocate proactively with key stakeholders in government and civil society on actions to improve population nutrition status;
7. Produce policy and technical briefs, background documents, reports, and strategic communication materials to support advocacy for and action on the double burden of malnutrition, and its social determinants;
8. Provide technical advice on policy and fiscal measures to reduce population consumption of salt and sugar, and to eliminate industrially produced transfats from the food supply, through approaches including regulations and legislation, front of pack labelling, reformulation of food products and taxation;
9. Coordinate with other programme areas within WHO, especially maternal and child health, environmental health, noncommunicable diseases, and health system strengthening, to integrate action on nutrition into these areas;
10. Ensure timely and appropriate implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the biennial WHO-Government of Indonesia collaborative workplan; and
11. Perform any other relevant work requested by the Team Lead and WHO Representative.
Essential: University degree in nutrition or health sciences with a focus on nutrition, obtained from a recognized university.
Desirable: Advanced degree (Master's degree or PhD) in nutrition, or public health with a focus on nutrition, or a relevant area.
Essential: At least two years of professional experience in the development and implementation of health programmes at national or subnational level in the field of nutrition.
Desirable: Experience in addressing nutrition from the perspective of preventing noncommunicable diseases. Experience of working with UN agencies or international development organizations.

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at IDR 548,124,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
