Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Support and align to Product Development Team. Report to Merchandising Manager.
  • Develop furniture design (product, finishing, packaging) to meet all the WSI requirements and calendar.
  • Become WSI in country expert on product development within product category, including kids furniture.
  • Day to day communication with vendors and PD team. Communicate design and technical drawing to/ from vendor and to/from US counterpart trough PLM/ emails.
  • Cultivate an understanding of costs associated with raw materials and design details.
  • Conduct online/ onsite sample review ( Development Sample, Testing Sample, Photo Sample, Master Sample) and make recommendation, ensuring that the sample are meet specs.
  • Presenting product detail in Zoom Meeting/ Video Call to US/ Singapore Team.
  • Continuously conduct product research to gain understanding of the new product innovations and construction advancements. Observe product trends, new offering though market research or factory visit.
  • Conduct sample in house testing during development to solve problematic material or construction issues. Trouble shoot technical issues that arise during furniture sample development.
  • Verify Production Drawing, Assembly Instruction, Packaging System, Finishing Steps, Product Information, Bluebook in WSI system.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date information in product management system (PLM, Blue Book).
  • Conduct online/onsite Pre Production Meeting.
  • Supervise any first pilot run with the vendor and WSI production teams (white wood review, OCA).
  • Support Singapore Team initiative (Cost Saving, Playbook)
  • Collaborate to cross functional team members; QA, Lab, SCO, CSR to ensure product development transparency and awareness throughout product commercialization timeline.

JOB HOLDER’S COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:
  • Excellent communication and technical skills.
  • Able to simplify complex technical information for non-technical individuals.
  • Able to work under time sensitive line (seasonal developments).
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and provide accurate information to all parties.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Must have extensive PC experience, and know Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Access.
  • Must know Auto-CAD, Solidworks
  • Must know digital photography and photo file management.
  • At least >3 years relevant working experience as a furniture engineer or furniture production manager in an international company. Product development experience is a must.
  • Good understanding of upholstery issues, as it pertains to leather and fabrics.
  • Experienced with furniture hardware, glass, resin, and custom metal designs.
  • Good written and spoken English skills.
  • Independent, flexible and hard working.
  • Systematic approach and good planning skills required.
  • Self-Starter, Good Initiative, Team Player.
  • Based in Cirebon area.
