Position Summary : Targets, fosters and supports the business in maintaining a market leadership position. Functions as the liaison with the business unit, supporting specific product(s) or market(s) strategic growth, developing the required commercial/technical models, procedures and processes to support & sustain success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understands the market from a client perspective by engaging customers and the sales team.
  • Identifies key customers and establish relationships as appropriate, either directly (in case of new technology/processes) or in cooperation with the business.
  • Facilitates client surveys, visits and interviews liaising with Sales, understanding requirements for the development of new products
  • Understands the market, both internally and externally, including competitor positions, strategies, segmentation and current/future direction
  • Provides input to strategic direction, working closely in a supporting role with Marketing, Product Line & other stakeholders contributing to marketing communications, including content recommendation forl advertisements, brochures, web-based content, trade magazine articles, professional papers (may be charged with authoring or developing cntent for papers), etc.
  • Identifies, evaluates, supports development of and implements new technology / offerings and service offerings
  • Audits/Identifies product line gaps and propose Resaerch & Development initiatives and/or acquisitions to fill gaps
  • Developes / supports the development of tools (pricing templates, standard proposal documents, etc.) that enable the business to sell the products and services to our clients
  • Audits existing product software and identify/prioritize new software requirements
  • Provides technical support and guidance to other employees, product lines, marketing/technical staff, the field and Company groups on products for which the group is responsible
  • Recommends speculative equipment manufacture
  • Participates in the development of key opportunities
  • Participates in Product Line Cost Rationalization exercises in the event the Company is unable to achieve threshold profitability limits with consistency
  • Keeps abreast of technological developments in the area of expertise to ensure a high technical quality in tools and techniques developed in the group
  • Recommends and implements means to better achieve goals

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or significant industry experience

Preferred Education

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in business development technology, including at least 2 years of sales related experience

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, customers, vendors, suppliers] and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
Position may require travel 50% of the time
