Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for an Operations Director, PT Sandvik SMC - Freeport (Territory Manager), based in Freeport. The role is responsible for directing, controlling and planning the total operations of the company both internally and externally. This includes compiling and implementing the company’s annual business plan and longer-term strategic plan.

As the Territory Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting yourself in accordance with our EHS Vision to achieve Zero Harm to; our people, the environment we work in, our customers and our suppliers
• Fostering on going collaboration between Sales Are Business Line Manager and Account Manager
• Ensuring that the Territory/ Sales Area Business Plan are developed and implemented in collaboration with Sales Are Business Line Managers
• Developing a strategy and budget of a Territory resource plan (organization, branches/ offices, workshops, stocking points, competence development, talent management, shared services. etc.)
• Driving the agreed strategy and budget through all territories and service activities
• Ensuring the business performance of the individual Product Areas/ lines within the territory
• Closely following the execution of the agreed strategy and initiate and implement necessary mitigating actions in cooperation with Sales Area Management team
• Providing Leadership to support functions including Marketing, EHS, Finance, Legal and HR
• Being a BA Mining ambassador (local senior executives, industry associations, mining universities…)
• Ensuring compliance with BA Mining standard processes and tools

Your profile

You have a Post Graduate Qualification (or equivalent) in Mining or Construction, plus a minimum of 5 years’ management experience. Extensive experience in the Mining, Construction or Engineering industries (open pit/ underground gold/copper etc) will be looked upon favorably. You have a proven background in Sales and Marketing with strong exposure to maintenance and rebuild operations. You have a strong commitment to EHS as you keep safety at the forefront of everything you do and highly developed interpersonal skills.
