We are currently recruiting for a Cost Controller to join the Indonesia Office of a growing engineering consulting business.

Cost Controller

Working as a member of the Construction Management team the Cost Controller is responsible for:

  • Understanding the project main construction contract, implementing the project controls systems. Focus will be on monitoring and reporting on the contractors’ adherence.
  • Liaise with the project team to understand key areas of concern regarding the project controls, stay connected to the physical progress onsite and continue to ongoing development of the project controls procedures.
  • Check and challenge the Main Construction Contractor’s construction plan, for resourcing, effectiveness and efficiency, and to monitor the plan implementation. Highlight variances in the plan and participate in identifying and selecting corrective actions.
  • Check and challenge the contractors forecast vs actual hours reporting based on data collected through timesheets and variation instructions.
  • Review and approval of the Contractor’s invoices, as well as review of the contractors weekly and monthly reports to ensure consistency in documentation.
  • Manage the ongoing development of the project controls tools as required. Note, the project is using a user-friendly customisable database called ‘QuickBase’, some remote training and/or development support for this software is available if the candidate is unfamiliar with it.
  • Support the project team by processing contractor variations or Field Work Instruction (FWI) during construction.
  • Maintain a high level of record keeping and lead the resolution of contractual negotiations.
  • Take a leading role in modelling and observing Health & Safety behaviour when interacting with the construction teams.

Qualification

  • Experience in web programming and cost controls area
  • Tertiary Qualification (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Expertise in application of principles and practices within discipline
  • Have or be working towards a professional body certification / registration
  • Previous experience in Cost, Planning, Estimating and Risk. Generally understands the interdependencies of work processes between the different job functions
