Role Summary: To promote RGE corporate brand, interact with the public and establish productive relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers. In this role that you are about to embark on, you are required to carry out the following responsibilities:
  • Performs specific assignments of limited scope, within established policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the coordination and development of internal and/or external communication materials (newsletters, press releases, internet/intranet pages, annual and interim financial reports) and events, broadening knowledge and further developing skills.
  • Provides general customer relations information to external clients or customers, usually not dealing with sensitive subject matter.
  • May assist in providing communication consultation to internal departments.
  • Promote, publicize and archive District level news, activities and successes in the improvement of learning, teaching and student achievement through all communication platforms and area media outlets including print, imagery and video.
  • Coordinate and monitor communications between the school district and community including social media.
  • Serve as a contact for media inquiries and requests for information. Disseminate information when necessary in response to media inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the local media, including newspaper and electronic outlets.
  • Assist school personnel and school organizations in planning and publicizing school related events or activities.
  • Assist with a variety of district events.
  • Provide creative support for internal and external communication efforts including print publications, web sites, electronic communication, community engagement, media and video productions.
  • Provide support to district staff as needed related to the use of communication platforms in the district.
  • Assist in the production and distribution communication material.
  • Attend off-hours district meetings and events to gather information and media for publication.
  • Prepare information packets as necessary for district stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective communication program.
Requirements: Business Understanding :
  • Strong administrative skills with high capacity for attention to detail and organized in work.
  • Experience in journalism, communications, public relations, graphic design or related field.
  • Works well in multi-cultural environments, with high integrity and responsibilities
  • Ability to work reliably and independently without supervision
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Education :
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, journalism, communications, public relations or related field preferred.
Yrs of Exp & Industry knowledge :
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, experience in large scale program (both coverage and budget management), INGO/NGO would be advantageous
