About the Department of Home Affairs (HA)
The Department of Home Affairs (HA) is responsible for leading centrally co-ordinated strategy, policy and capabilities in relation to national security, law enforcement, immigration and customs, emergency management, countering terrorism, cyber security, countering foreign interference, critical infrastructure protection, multi-cultural affairs, social cohesion, countering violent extremism, and transport security. Home Affairs contributes to achieving three principal government outcomes of strong national security, a strong economy and a prosperous and cohesive society.
The HA South East Asia (SEA) region is comprised of five offices Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia (which covers Brunei), the Philippines and Timor L’este. In total, the SEA region manages around 200,000 visa and citizenship decisions and carries out significant bilateral engagement and capacity building programmes with host governments in each respective country.
About the position
The Regional Executive Officer/Regional Training Coordinator works with the Regional Director SEA Region (Minister Counsellor (Immigration)) (RD) who is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Under limited direction, the position is responsible for financial resource management, including significant monitoring, reporting and forecasting in respect to SEA region finances, assets, property, Information Technology (IT) and personnel. Additionally, the position assists with business planning, supports the Regional Director with bilateral engagement and oversees the regional learning and development arrangements.
