About the Role
A great opportunity awaits our Legal Manager who will have the strategic and unique role as part of the Gojek Legal Team and Data Protection Officer in Gojek. Together with the data legal team, you’ll run points for all data privacy compliances that are related to all Gojek’s products and services. Reporting to the Group Data Protection Officer, you’ll also work closely with the information security team and the engineers to ensure that we adopt the international standard on privacy and data protection standards in Gojek and GoTo Group in general. In addition, you’ll be leading in the policy making process and its implementation to the various streams in Gojek. As part of the award-winning legal team, you will be involved in various tech related works such as drafting tech contracts and providing legal advice on various tech development initiatives by the engineers.

About the Team
The Gojek Legal team is a highly collaborative group of 50 lawyers stationed across Jakarta, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The gist of our role is to support the team's efforts to scale Gojek's international business operations whilst managing legal risks appropriately. Working with the Business, Product, and various functional teams across the organization, we act as a strategic partner for Gojek on legal matters regarding fintech products (i.e. P2P lending, e-money, e-wallet), strategic deals and partnerships, data protection & privacy, intellectual property, antitrust/competition law, fundraising, and capital market laws, among other domains.
It’s no secret that we take our duties seriously as a team. Our team has supported Gojek in successfully expanding internationally to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines (the latter-most through its subsidiary, Coins.PH). We were also awarded the 2019 & 2020 Asian Legal Business Indonesia In House Team Of The Year - major milestones for our legal family. What drives us is our shared goal to provide the best deliverables to our internal clients, and keep pushing our collective bar higher.
