Get to know the role:
This is an in-house role where you’ll be the go-to person for localising, editing, proofreading and transcreating projects from English to Indonesian.
Projects range from in-app product content, internal tools (including merchant portal and driver app), Usability Testing materials, and customer service related content.
As part of the Product Design team, you should have an understanding of user experience design for mobile apps and/or websites.
More than a translator, you are also someone with a strong understanding of UX writing and leveraging user research findings, in order to deliver the best localised experience for Grab's products.
Your daily work involves collaborating with content designers, product designers, researchers, product managers, business stakeholders, and engineers.
The day-to-day:
Take responsibility for and manage the day-to-day delivery of assigned localisation projects for the Indonesian market.
Check and review all localised materials, including translation from vendors, to ensure they are culturally appropriate, fully compliant and delivered on time.
Ensure all localised content, including from vendors, are delivered in our brand voice and tone.
Maintain and update Indonesian content style guide and glossary to ensure content quality and for the benefit of other content creators and translators.
Work closely with the local and regional stakeholders to produce precise and effective content that address consumer needs in Indonesian markets.
Conduct desk checks of Indonesian localised content, whenever necessary, during the engineering development phase.
Take part in Usability Testing and Concept Testing sessions to test the initial Indonesian content to get insights and apply appropriate findings to deliver the best content.
The Must-Haves:
Native speaker of Indonesian language with professional fluency in English.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working with in-house content team, product team, or at translation agencies.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in a relevant field.
Experience working with designers, product managers, product marketing managers, UX researchers, engineers and developers.
Strong time management and prioritisation skills as you’ll be handling multiple projects at the same time.
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, as you’ll be leading conversation with the team related to the in-app product content.
Comfortable with remote working arrangements, confident of collaborating easily with team members and stakeholders across different countries.
Ability to work independently, anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
The Good-to-Haves:
Experience using localisation, design, and remote collaboration tools such as Phrase, Figma and Google suite.
Familiar with the process of localisation in a fast-paced tech startup environment and have a familiarity with mobile app development.
Analytical skills to understand and utilise metrics relevant to the role.
Detail-oriented fast learner with the initiative to challenge the status quo to make improvements.
