VMware’s Partner Enablement Center of Excellence Team is looking for a Digital Experience Design Strategist to join our global team to create next generation experiences for our 42K+ Partner organizations through our flagship enablement platform, Partner University. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Within 30 days you will:
    • Meet your immediate team and cross-functional partners
    • Learn the VMW vision, high-level solution portfolio with product families
    • Familiarize yourself with Partner Connect Program and VMware partner strategy
    • Get acquainted with the existing platform design and future vision
  • Within 6 months you will
    • Completed interviews with target user groups to understand user needs/ requirements
    • Produced high-quality solutions through flow diagrams, graphic designs, storyboards, and site maps
    • Evolved implementation of customized experiences for the digital user
    • Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior and how to best drive desired outcomes
    • Designed content management processes to deliver, at scale, the optimal digital experience
    • Defined mechanisms to track and quantify user activity and satisfaction to inform and drive incremental improvements
  • Within 12 months you will
    • Be a subject-matter expert in your area
    • Established strong working relationships with x-functional stakeholder teams
    • Developed a plan to implement seamless and consistent user experience aligned to platform goals
    • Ensure platform is at the forefront of industry trends, maximizing opportunities to drive engagement and discovery
    • Perform tests on user interface elements such as CTAs (Call to Action), layouts, target links, landing pages and banners

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Create innovative, user-centered designs through consideration of market research, business requirements, partner feedback, and usability study findings.
  • Understand partners and their needs through research and feedback, and market analysis.
  • Develop personas, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, and content strategies as means to identify goals that will drive the user experience
  • Collaborate with Solution Leads to evolve existing designs to support new enablement initiatives
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with technical project managers and developers
  • Participate in the product development process from definition through design, build, test, release, and maintenance
  • Translate ideas into user flows, wireframes, detailed visual mockups, and prototypes to prepare and present concepts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Design clear, intuitive and delightful experiences for external users
  • Facilitate the design process, present, and iterate design solutions.
  • Promote a culture of empathy for the end user
  • Stay abreast of new and innovative trends in the field of user experience
  • Design the information architecture, interface, and interaction flows for the web
  • Collaborate with the Engineers and Product Managers and able to quickly iterate on the feedback

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience with a focus on Product and UI Design
  • Ability to gather and analyze user requirements
  • Story telling - ability to tell simple user stories illustrating solutions.
  • Expertise in Interaction design with a strong understanding of User-centered Design process
  • Able to create low and high-fidelity mockups to present concepts and finished designs
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Possess a remarkably high level of comfort in working closely with Product Managers and Developers
  • Good aesthetic sense and attention to details
  • Proficient in Figma or Sketch
  • Online portfolio with samples of prior work
  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with data visualization is a plus
  • Strong prototyping skills is a plus

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will be part of the Partner Enablement Center of Excellence team under the Worldwide Readiness, Assessment, Certification, and Enablement (WWRACE) organization. You will work in a smaller team of 8 people with weekly check-ins with your direct manager, design collaboration sessions, regular team meetings as well as weekly meetings with cross-functional platform design organization.

Where is this role located?

Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable. You will be expected to live within 0-4 time zones of the primary location.
