JOB DUTIES:
Provides first level of supervision with both technical and administrative responsibility for a team of salaried and management staff. To cover Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting, Accountable report and Compliance for a facility. Overall accounting policies have been prescribed, but there is a continual need to interpret, coordinate and record activities resulting from constantly changing business conditions. Incumbent has a comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s accounting processes & systems.
Reporting directly to the incumbent are various levels of management accountants and salaried support positions.
Primary responsibilities of this role are divided into three areas:
Managing People
Managing Expectations
Performing Complex Staff Work
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: position requires a 4-year degree, preferably in accounting. Non-accounting degree requires minimum of 18 hours of college level accounting or approved Accounting certification. International equivalent of education and/or certification are typically required. Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, good judgment and superior communication skills. Strong analytical, problem solving and human relations skills also are necessary. More than 10 years of accounting experience is recommended.
