Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to Pressure Vessel Division Manager or Project Commercial Manager .
  • Focal point for client while independently handling a project.
  • Responsible for management of all phases of small projects or part of a larger project.
  • Accountable for financial and technical success of project or segment of project.
  • Manages project personnel to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage Bid Proposals which related to project variation.
  • Promotes a culture of teamwork, collaboration and success; Learns from other leaders.
  • Ensures preparation of Project Execution Plan (PEP), Project Scope of Work, Project Setup, Project Closeout and Change Orders.
  • Reviews and approves project expenditures, budgets, estimates, cost reports, project financial forecasts and schedules.
  • Manages the project team, internal and external customer relationships, and staffing of project team with competent persons from the functional groups.
  • Manages to the cost, schedule, safety, quality and contractual requirements of the project through effective planning in accordance with company procedures.
  • Applies basic understanding of company’s business to improve project cost effectiveness, apply change management principles and improve project margin
  • Overall responsibility for successful project outcome, including managing safety to Profab and client expectations and standards, managing scope and quality to specification and contract, managing the schedule to ensure delivery on or ahead of the contracted delivery date, and managing costs and revenue to ensure completion within budget and at better than or equal to budget profitability.
  • Review of the Contract requirements, planning of the work, establishing and managing a project team, all as required to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Proactive HSE management and controls to ensure no harm or damage to personnel or materials/facilities. Developing and implementing Project HSE Plan. Measures of achievement: lead and lag KPI’s set at start of project by Executive management.
  • Developing the project schedule and ensuring all requirements of the contract and specifications are considered and properly planned and scheduled to ensure overall on time delivery to the client’s full satisfaction. Measures – Project S Curve/KPI curves demonstrating progress better than plan.
  • Establishing requirements for project documentation, procedures and processes including the Project Execution Plan and Project Quality (Management) Plan to ensure all requirements of the project are understood, documented and conveyed clearly to the project team.
  • Establishing the project budget and monitoring costs continuously to ensure project completion in line with expected profitability or better. Assessing and managing variations and properly administering the contract to optimize and protect NOV Profab commercial position. Manage cash and ensure project is always cash positive. Attend and report at monthly reviews of project performance. Measures – project profitability, positive cash flow, variation register up to date and variations progressively agreed and closed with client
  • Coordinate project requirements with various internal departments and client to ensure optimal project results achieved in a harmonious way.
  • Build client relationships and look for opportunities with the client for additional work. Measures – positive client relationship and feedback
  • Assigned other roles such as Completions Manager, where project management skills are required, albeit to manage a set of tasks defined in terms a of a project.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Process, Ocean, Naval Architecture, etc) or Construction Management Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Pressure Vessel Engineering or Construction environment
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Project Leadership role.
  • Understanding of Pressure Vessel design code and specification (ASME VIII Div1, Div 2, PED, AS standard).
