WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Converse Office to drive our footwear team on all aspects of manufacturing and delivering without product issue.

Besides actively managing engineers and footwear technicians while working with Converse teams, you will work with factory partners to ensure product quality and ensuring output efficiency to maximize labor cost saving.

You will manage the commercialization process and ensure that products meet or exceed our quality standards for manufacturing.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Quality Management System tools (Fail Mode Effects Analysis, First Time Through, Manufacturing Quality Assurance Auditing, Clean Straight Strong Interior) Proficient in continuous improvement tools with functional teams (Root Cause Analysis, Engineering guidance, Best Practice)
  • Understands the use of data and application of statistical methods and tools such as Flex System to inform decisions and control processes
  • Advanced knowledge of Manufacturing Operations - processes, technologies and materials required to consistently produce finished goods to a measurable standard.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, sketches and digital files in 2D/3D
  • Ability to develop engineering solutions with a focus on quality, sustainability, and cost
  • Plan and manage communications, production schedule and coordinate with other related department to ensure on time delivery of customer orders while achieving the highest quality of finished products.
  • Evaluate Product Quality KPI data and audit process to ensure the success of the plant.
  • Ensures quality excellence across both Tier 1 Factories and Tier 2 suppliers through the quality standards and policy deployment.
  • Root cause analysis from Product Issue and Quality issue prevention for the production line.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This position is assigned to work with Converse Technical Services teammates in Asia and Factory partners from the time of Early Product Commitment through to the production date. Continue with all relevant functional teams to validate the manufacturing process and enhance the End to End manufacturing communication process to improve Roles and Responsibilities for process development. WHAT YOU BRING

Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree in related technical/engineering field. Additional experience is required in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment on the footwear industry
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Able to communicate well both in written and spoken English.

Technical Skills
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Aggressive and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of lasts, footwear pattern, tooling, basic chemical engineering, and various footwear construction processes.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of footwear manufacturing machinery and processes.
  • Deep knowledge of quality management and statistical quality control concepts and practices

Additional Role Requirements
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with internal/external teams
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies a plus
