Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct in-depth research on breaking news in Indonesia regarding specific Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) related issues.
  • Strong focus in maintaining an extensive list of Indonesia Politically exposed persons (PEP) and state owned & invested enterprises (SOE/SIE).
  • Research and extract and data from all applicable sources from public domain in Indonesian language, ensure accuracy and quality of findings by complying with policies and applicable laws.
  • Strong adherence to Indonesia and General research guidelines following strict requirements to ensure product content and quality.
  • Provide Indonesia content support to clients on daily basis.
  • Work closely with Indonesian team member to support Indonesia related ad-hoc projects.
  • Work independently in managing individual assignments and tasks.
  • Analyse a wide range of data sources and produce structured reports.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Native language proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Good comprehending and writing skills in English.
  • Good domain knowledge of Indonesian naming conventions including characteristics of personal names, salutations and titles as well as most common male and female surnames.
  • Strong prioritisation and time management skills in handling multiple tasks and activities at a time.
  • Strong interest in the knowledge of Indonesia political structure and governance at all levels.
  • Knowledge of all Indonesian sanctions, law enforcement and regulatory enforcement bodies and relevant national laws concerning the AML/CFT regime in Indonesia.
  • In-depth understanding of the prevalent financial crimes in Indonesia based on guidance and reports from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG), the Indonesian National Risk Assessment report released by the Indonesian Financial Intelligence Unit PPATK and other relevant sources
  • Extensive knowledge of all relevant official and credible media sources in Indonesia.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in International Relations/Political Science, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies, Commerce, Journalism, Linguistics/Languages.
  • Must possess keen attention to detail, excellent research, writing and analytical skills, and enjoy in-depth investigations to uncover difficult to access information.
  • Very good use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize research work in a fast-paced environment.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE SKILLS:
  • Candidates with AML related certifications would be at an advantage.
  • Awareness of the socio-political context of the countries matching your language skills.
  • Experience in conducting research across different countries in the APAC region.
