Monitors and maintains a secure environment during specified shift with special emphasis on events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Works as a roving guard daily during specified shift
2. Ensure all building, organizational and client assets are protected from security risks, personnel threats, asset losses and safety hazards during shift
3. Enforce security practices, policies, and procedures
4. Responds to various building alarms
5. Responds to staff and guest accidents
6. Make sure appropriate follow-up is completed post accident
7. Monitors and resolve Symphony Place traffic issues
8. State of Tn. guard license
9. Assist Director of Security with the coordination of high profile events
10. Assist Director of Security with monitoring contracted security force
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises contract employees and part-time off-duty police officers as necessary. Produce detailed monthly performance revues of contractor’s performance. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include; training, assigning, and directing work force.
Work Requirements and Qualifications
1. Education
High School education
2. Experience
Experience in security management in a public facility or a law enforcement agency, preferably at the supervisory level
3. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
TN security guard license (unarmed)
4. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of security management systems (fire alarm, CCTV, keys and locks, access control, etc…)
Investigative skills for determining accuracy in the reporting of incidents
Helpful attitude in developing creative response and solutions to needs and issues
Ability to work independently and use independent judgment while keeping supervisor informed of work activity and issues
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and balance a sense of urgency with lower priorities while maintaining calm
Ability to work flexible hours depending on operational needs of the staff or required maintenance of systems; should have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
Ability to de-escalate any tense situation.
A good sense of humor and global perspective is an added plus

Personal computer, digital camera, two-way radio, telephone and/or wireless device. Firearms will not be permitted to be used in performing the duties of this position.
