Job Description

Dow’s business communicators are marketing communications practitioners with content and channel expertise who support and implement promotional programs that engage current and potential customers and other relevant stakeholder audiences. The Business Communications Specialist supports plan development and helps position and promote Dow products and services in support of business growth strategies and priorities. This person deploys marketing communications strategies that deliver key marketing content/stories through multiple channels including digital and social media, trade media relations, paid media, literature production, video production, traditional direct communications, trade shows and experiential events.

Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Collaborates with leader, manager and other teammates to develop and implement marketing communications plans that align with business marketing plans and employ audience-appropriate channel mixes.
  • Develops, manages and delivers content that engages target audiences. This includes message development, writing and storytelling, video production and graphic design instruction.
  • Has a heavy focus on external project implementation across channels – media, social, digital and traditional. Organizes updates, routing, proof reading and production/delivery of projects.
  • Has responsibility for some project budget and resource management, including working with agency partners where appropriate and affordable.
  • Supports brand management through new product/capability brand development, basic trademark management, thought leadership and reputation, and co-branding strategy support.
  • Plans and performs measurement for all tactics, feeding findings and recommendations back to communications and marketing planning.
  • Communicates and collaborates regularly with local and global teams to ensure alignment with global/regional marketing and marketing communications priorities and to leverage and share communications materials and best practices.

Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree (~16 years)
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, business communications and/or related communications disciplines.
  • Ability to work with a variety of cultures, functions and businesses, along with the skills to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, prioritizing a diverse range of projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • A clear understanding of digital communications and content marketing, along with excellent writing, editing and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to embracing inclusion and diversity, outside-in thinking, creativity, value-add mentality, personal development, confidence in capabilities and clarity in priorities and expectations.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in a PR agency and/or multinational environment, preferably in a B-to-B industry.
  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in a Communications related discipline preferred.
