Job Description:

The Public Cloud Director is a global position that leads a team of highly skilled architects and engineers for NTT MCIS. The candidate should have experience delivering public cloud solutions and familiarity with the potential challenges encountered while working in a managed services provider environment. In addition, the Public Cloud Director should have a strong understanding of market conditions and industry trends in the public cloud arena.

Deliverables for the Global Public Cloud organization will include:

  • Working with the sales, product, and architectural teams to define operational standards and service descriptions
  • Working with customers and the sales team to provide input on valid solutions for public cloud infrastructure
  • Helping to define migration and transformation strategies
  • Ensuring engagement from support engineers in Service Delivery through TCT framework
  • Implementing customers with specified standards and deployment models leveraging best practices for public cloud infrastructure management
  • Implementing landing zones and building public cloud infrastructure for migrations and new environments
  • Leveraging DevOps best practices to deploy code
  • Acting as a point of escalation for support and troubleshooting existing environments as issues arise (connectivity or performance issues for example)
  • Maintaining cost governance toolsets (CloudHealth)
  • Communicating with customers throughout sales, implementation, and support phases
  • Building processes and workflows that ensure a smooth customer experience and efficient time utilization in the support of public cloud services
  • Development and continuous execution of training for Service Delivery groups as well as collaborative architectural initiatives

Deliverables specific to the Public Cloud Director role include:

  • Guiding team workflow towards DevOps best practices and methodologies
  • Driving to a more SRE oriented workflow
  • Driving integration and alignment of workflow and deployment methods between newly integrated organizations

Leadership and Team Focus:

  • Provides recommendations on changes and design enhancements to improve reliability, security, processes, and performance
  • Takes responsibility for meeting commitments; desire to succeed and has a history of meeting solutions by deadline
  • Builds respectful relationships with team members; consistently acknowledges and appreciates each member's contributions
  • Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential; motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner
  • Provides quality customer service above else; ensures an understanding between customer and NTT and helps provide workable solutions
  • Mitigates team conflict and communication problems; provides information that ensures interest and understanding
  • Promotes innovation, creativity, communication, and effectiveness, always striving for continuous improvement
  • Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members and peers
  • Grows professionally and personally; eager to acquire new knowledge while promoting NTT’s values and culture
  • Takes full ownership of the customer experience, from new customer onboarding into support

Qualifications:


EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Finance. Will also accept equivalent of bachelor’s degree through any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

7 years’ experience in a global IT infrastructure operations management position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience must include:

  • Setting goals and objectives to align with organizational strategy
  • Growing and improving the skillset of an operational organization
  • Providing training opportunities and challenges for all members of the organization
  • Strategic analysis of workload utilization and projection including required FTE calculations
  • Awareness of critical audit requirements and alignment with internal / external auditors
  • Budgeting and identifying cost savings opportunities
  • Crisis management and major outage coordination
  • Conflict mitigation and critical customer service skills
  • Performance analysis of leadership and engineering resources
  • Providing and receiving feedback at any level of the organization
