The Managing Director & Country Vice President, Indonesia is responsible for all business and operational activities within the Indonesian country, ensuring that the delivery of services are safe, secure, consistent and professional. The role requires an experienced leader with strong business acumen, an understanding of business structures, and impeccable leadership skills. This is a strategically important regional role within the SEAC region leading Menzies Aviation's Indonesian team.


Candidate requirements

  • Responsible for the delivery of the mission, vison, and values of Menzies.
  • Operational delivery across all facets of the Menzies Aviation joint venture business within Indonesia.
  • P&L ownership and responsibility up to, and including, building, managing and delivering an annual budget.
  • The management and development of staff including performance management and staff development.
  • Accountable for safety and security in accordance with Menzies Aviation Health & Safety, Security, and Quality Assurance policies.
  • Management and oversight of Safety Management Systems and other policies issued by the company.
  • Build and develop internal and external relationships with all stakeholders, establishing effective and beneficial working relationships for the betterment of the Company.
  • Implement and manage contracts and SLA's with airline customers to minimise non-contracted variations to agreed terms and conditions.
  • Successfully deliver on new business and operations.
  • Automate, streamline, and simplify business practices to improve business performance.

Safety, Security and Compliance

  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions whilst at work.
  • Co-operate with their manager / supervisor in order to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company in the interests of health, safety or welfare reasons.
  • Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in this manual.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
  • Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.
  • Engage with MORSE and follow our code principles

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or other suitable field of study is required.
  • Minimum 5 years operational experience in aviation and/or airline logistics (Airline, Ground Handler, Cargo, or Into-Plane Fuel).
  • Minimum 3 years of large-scale project management; PMI Certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a senior leadership role managing local and remote businesses.
  • Commercial awareness for relationship management with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Success in delivering projects to an agreed budget.
  • Professional written and verbal fluency in English is required.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
  • Understanding of JV partnerships, structures, and business matters.
  • Experience of international business relations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Sound understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of IATA SGHA, RSMS, and Hermes Cargo System, is advantageous.
  • Able to meet the Qualification for an Indonesian work visa.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and self-leadership.
  • Ability to travel within Indonesia and internationally when required and in accordance with business needs.
