Job Purpose:

Implement best local category specific strategies. Work closely with local stakeholders to ensure identify and recommend ´best in class´ suppliers and maintain strategic and approved pool of transportation vendors. Prepare and lead supplier negotiations at local level.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Provide professional, end-to-end RFx sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research / intelligence to support business decisions in investments and budgets and establishment of contracts. Identification of strategic sourcing opportunities and development and management of strategic suppliers is a key
  • Achieving greatest value contribution, benefit realization and efficiency from all procurement activities and ensuring fulfillment of joint goals with internal business partner by meeting their demands in terms of quality, price and service
  • Specialize in strategic sourcing and market/trends of transportation & fleets related goods & services including maintenance in order to reduce costs and ensure quality and security/stability of supply as needed by the business.
  • Develop/upkeep component unit cost databases with the use of advanced big data tools if necessary, to establish cost transparency and understand market developments
  • Create product cost models by following the component hierarchy and the supply chain to responsibly create a full cost build-up of the landed product to support budgeting exercises and tender negotiations
  • Perform product tear-downs, conduct independent supply cost estimates/analysis, verify assumptions, plus generate/discuss value engineering ideas with the business/suppliers to optimize cost
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with, and develop deep understanding of key business partners’ interests and concerns
  • Ongoing risk evaluation and setup of mitigating measures where needed incl. supplier risk assessment
  • Evaluate and compare suppliers based on balanced score-card of technical, commercial and sustainability KPIs
  • Develop lasting and win-win partnerships both with established suppliers and startups
  • Manage larger complexity of specialized contracts and new contract types (e.g. proof-of-concepts with startups, regional frame agreements)

Your profile should look like:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
  • Additional qualification such as MBA, is an added advantage
  • 5-10+ years of relevant working experience, with more than 3 years in procuring commercial vehicles and or larger scale of transportation services.
  • Sourcing experience of vehicle products (capex and opex) and relevant services, is a must.
  • Proven track record in managing projects and leading negotiations of mid/large volume, high impact and with different degrees of complexity
  • Willingness and ability to travel minimum 20% (under normal circumstances)
  • Candidates with these prior working experiences in the following will have an advantage
  • Working in an international, matrixed environment
  • Cross-functional mix in engineering, operations, solutions design or project management
  • Cost engineering expertise in calculating product cost along the supply chain
