SALES MANAGER, INDUSTRIAL FILTRATION
This role is responsible for leading and managing all sales activities and executing the business plan for Metso Outotec’s Industrial Filtration business within Asia-Pacific, with a specific focus on Asia region. These include chemical processing, industrial manufacturing of food additives, polymers, amino acids, starch, pigments such as titanium dioxide, industrial minerals, edible oils, pharmaceuticals, pulp & paper etc. The role will entail management of both direct customer and agent/distributor relationships with the overarching aim of achieving business growth in the industrial filtration market segment.

The Role

In this role you will coordinate the following functions:
  • Common sales work, commercial- and contract negotiations with end customers and providing sales support for agents/distributors.
  • Generating leads for both CAPEX and Aftermarket businesses.
  • Ensuring product, technical and process expertise support for proposal management, agents/distributors, and end customers.
  • Capability to organize and support testing.
  • Capability to participate tenders and biddings.
  • Assemble bid teams for proposal generation.
  • Sales funnel management, sales planning & budgeting. Sales case creation and prioritisation of sales cases using CRM tools.
  • Profitable growth of the business and maximisation of the market share within the industrial filtration market in Asia-Pacific, with a key focus on South-East Asia (i.e. South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia etc).
  • Develop focused strategy and growth plan for the industrial filtration sector in South East Asia by industry i.e. chemicals/ food / pharmaceuticals / edible oils, pulp & paper, industrial minerals, rubber & plastics, etc.
  • Relationship development, negotiations and agreement structuring with end customers and agents/distributors.
  • Collaborate with and assist local agents/distributors to identify prospects and develop win-strategies for sales opportunities, in collaboration with Business Line colleagues.
  • Managing the assigned customer base and maintaining key customer relationships, both from an end-customer and agent/distributor perspectives.
  • Agent/distributor account management – this will include participation for agent/distributor network building, ensuring that our selected agents/distributors are supported; agent/distributor performance management; building agent/distributor account management plans; and collaborating with agents/distributors on site visits.
  • Collaborating with the Filtration Business Line to develop marketing plans and ensuring that the message is tailored towards each industrial segment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor activities including technology advances and site activities.
  • Follow up on previously won cases to ensure there are no discernible issues and escalate concerns to the appropriate channels, as required.
  • Providing input into the business plan and strategic direction for Industrial Filtration in the Asia-Pacific Market Area.
  • Securing strong value propositions in sales cases to improve conversion rate.
  • Contribute to the development of Metso: Outotec’s corporate strategy and long-term plans.
The Person
You will have around 7+ years’ experience working in the chemical / process industry in a sales management capacity. You will hold a relevant degree in engineering; an MBA would also be highly regarded for this role. A strong understanding of industrial dewatering / filtration, industrial processing unit operations and the associated market is required, along with a demonstrated ability to liaise and build relationships with internal and external customers at all levels. Furthermore, experience with sales opportunity development, contractual negotiations and agent/distributor management is highly desirable. Your flexibility to travel, once deemed safe to do so, is also an important part of this role. This role is ideally located in Thailand or Indonesia.
