Job Description

  • Take responsibility and represent company partner and clients on site construction activities related to the ICT discipline
  • Represent company partner and the Clients best interests in meetings with the General Contractor and sub-contractors.
  • Review and approval/rejection of contractor proposals, technical submittals, shop drawings against design intent, specifications, and local codes/standards/legislative restrictions
  • Ensure the necessary quality and timeliness standards are met consistent with agreed construction program/project plan
  • Close coordination with contractors and other discipline REs / local consultant to ensure that all issues and potential issues during construction, installation, test and commissioning, are identified and addressed promptly and properly
  • Responsible for the coordination of ICT infrastructure design packages, such as, written report documents, drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, procurement packs
  • Responsible for liaising with the company partner design team on specific design related queries
  • Attending construction BIM coordination meetings to ensure that the general contractor and sub-contractors are coordinating to the highest standard
Daily site walks to ensure that the installation is consistent with the design intent, including, but not limited to, below contractors’ works:
  • OSP construction and installation
  • ICT rooms and riser construction and MEP fit-out
  • ICT containment (cable trays/conduits/trunking) installation
  • ICT equipment rack installation
  • Power and cooling, grounding, bonding, and firestopping provisioning for ICT infrastructures
  • Fibre optic cabling installation, termination, and testing
  • Structured cabling (CAT 6A) installation, termination, and testing
  • Network and head-end equipment installation, test, and commissioning
  • Network interfacing to BMS and Security System
  • Network integrated test and commissioning
  • Other ICT related site works
  • Maintaining a snagging log, producing punch lists and site progress reports
  • Attending and reviewing Benchmarks for quality
  • Review and approval/rejection of redline drawings and as-built drawings against the as-built condition of the installation
  • Ensures contractor installation work meets industry, legal and quality standards
  • Attending and witnessing ICT testing and commissioning activities and review/approval of testing scripts and results
  • Review and approval of O&M documentation

  • Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or IT Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experiences with 2 years in construction site environment, including site installation, test and commissioning for telecom and network infrastructure and systems
  • Good communication, presentation, and engagement skills
  • Proficient in English, spoken and writing
  • Know how to use MS Office (for reporting), AutoCAD and PDF (for drawing reviewing and markup)
Technical qualifications and experience in the following technologies
  • Structured Cabling Systems
  • Fibre Optic Networks
  • Data Cabling containment systems
  • LAN Ethernet Switching
  • Wi-Fi Network Communications
  • Telecommunication Network Infrastructure and Services
  • Appreciation of the ICT implications related to MEP building services, network security engineering and power supply and cooling systems
Appropriate past working experience includes
  • Data cabling manufacturer/contractor
  • IT /IP network systems integration
  • Network technology vendor/manufacturer
  • IT/Multi-disciplinary consulting firm
  • Construction project management
  • Preferably having previous project experience in ICT infrastructure for data center construction; commercial building construction ICT infrastructure
  • Preferably having Industry qualifications such as Cisco CCNA
  • Preferably having familiarity with BIM/Revit/Navisworks
