Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:


  • Full Time 40 hours per week


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (four weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

As part of Chauffeur responsibilities, the incumbent will delivers ODC correspondence/materials and performs duties to support ODC mission.

Duties

Supervises the maintenance readiness of all Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) vehicles. Directly performs minor and routine maintenance and repair of all ODC vehicle, oversees and certifies major repairs, to include engine overhauls, performed by contracted maintenance facilities. Advises the ODC Chief on all matters pertaining to vehicle readiness and safety of operation. Provides transportation support to members of the Office of Defense Cooperation in the conduct of official business. Performs distribution of official correspondence as directed to the Indonesian Military and other offices in the Government of Indonesia. Safely loads, unloads, and transports heavy boxes/luggage at times up to 40 kilogram. Operates ODC vehicles in a safe and responsible manner and complies with appropriate traffic regulations. Presents a neat and well-kept appearance at all times. Continuously demonstrates courtesy to all passengers at all times.


1. Supervises/Operates vehicle as part of Chauffer responsibilities - 45%


2. Delivers correspondence/ boxes - 10%


3. Performs minor maintenance and repairs, and inspects work from contacted maintenance facilities to ensure adequacy - 20%


3. Works overtime and performs other duties as assigned in support of ODC mission - 10%


4. Inspects vehicles daily to assess and determine safety and repairs needed - 5%


5. Develops guidelines and gives on-the-job instruction to drivers on emergency repairs and maintenance schedule - 5%


6. Maintains and prepares maintenance report and vehicle log book, and ensures tools are in good working condition - 5%


Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years journeyman automotive mechanic experience and driving experience is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have knowledge of American and Japanese built automobiles and journeyman automotive mechanic trade. Knowledge of local traffic laws and traffic patterns required. Must have good knowledge of all major streets of Jakarta and surrounding areas. Must have detailed knowledge of locations and the most expeditious routes to all major Tentara National Indonesia (TNI) installations and facilities.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Completion of vocational training in automotive mechanics required. High School attendance is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Limited proficiency in verbal and written English ability and Good Working Knowledge in Bahasa Indonesian is required. (This may be tested).


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a valid driver's license (SIM A). Must have the ability to diagnose mechanical defects of vehicles in order to take corrective actions. Must have the ability to work without close supervision. Safely loads, unloads, and transports heavy boxes/luggage at times up to 40 kilo grams.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Indonesia and USASEAN may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
