The Senior Manager, Solution Engineering is responsible in leading and developing a world-class pre-sales engineers organization in their strategic engagement and pursuit of transformational change and success for our customers and partners. The Manager is a customer-facing and will provide leadership in three areas—business leadership, people leadership and technical leadership. Partnering and collaborating with the Country Manager of Indonesia, as well as other business and functional leaders, the SE Manager is responsible in translating business priorities into actionable plan, developing engagement strategies and team efficiencies programs that enable continual improvement. Actively managing the growth and development of the team to ensure the competency of the SE team is at its best and diverse to support the business technologies and solution offerings, in relevant vertical industry. Knowledgeable in IT technologies and industry aware you will take a visionary role at providing IT strategies, solution roadmap and architecture together with its associated business values to our key Enterprise customers.


Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Partnering with Country Manager and business leaders in the creation and execution of strategy of our key customers and partners

  • Contributing to regular country reviews with Sales Leaders, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of top accounts and opportunities

  • Actively driving for the success of customer engagement, both sponsoring engagement directly, as well as coaching and supporting SE team members in their pursuits

  • Developing our Solution Engineers via regular feedback, coaching, guidance and career development

  • Demonstrates the capacity to influence, lead by example and recognized as a leader of tomorrow by sales peers, team, and senior management.

  • Continual self-development with regard to technology, industry, processes, and programs in order to assist the SE team in meeting the organisational goals

  • An effective business partner and trusted advisor, responsible for developing and executing technical business plans aligned to business goals and success.

  • Exhibit executive communications, conduct effective meetings, presentations, negotiate, resolve conflicts, and exhibit effective time and priority management.

Education and Experience

  • Degree, BSc/BA in IT associated technologies, and/or advanced IT industry and/or leadership certification.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT or related business environments incorporating team or leadership roles, with proven mentoring and coaching experience, team development.

  • Experience in managing in a matrix organisation

  • Proven ability to engage at C-level for the purposes of solution selling, establishing peer relationships, and articulating strategic vision.

  • Track of record in executing consultative solution selling, establishing long term strategic relationship with enterprise customers

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable commute of the office.
