Introduction

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Cook (Asisten Koki) to join our dynamic kitchen team in West Jakarta (Jakarta Barat). Responsibilities

  • Assist the head chef and line cooks in preparing ingredients, including washing, chopping, marinating, and portioning according to standardized recipes.
  • Set up and maintain cooking stations before service, ensuring all necessary tools, utensils, and supplies are clean and readily available.
  • Monitor inventory levels of fresh produce, dry goods, and kitchen consumables; report shortages and help with stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Execute basic cooking tasks such as sautéing, boiling, grilling, and assembling dishes under the direct supervision of senior kitchen staff.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper storage temperatures, cross‑contamination prevention, and regular sanitation of work surfaces.
  • Participate in daily cleaning routines, including dishwashing, waste disposal, and deep‑cleaning of equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Support the kitchen during peak periods by expediting orders, plating dishes accurately, and ensuring timely delivery to the service line.
  • Continuously learn and apply new cooking techniques, menu updates, and industry best practices to improve overall kitchen efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, taking direction from senior chefs while providing feedback on workflow improvements.
  • Adhere to the scheduled work hours (Monday‑Saturday, 08:00‑17:00) and remain flexible for shift changes, weekend duties, and public holiday coverage as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; a culinary certification is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a restaurant kitchen is advantageous, though we welcome enthusiastic candidates with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen workflow, and equipment operation.
  • Understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP principles).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Hardworking, disciplined, and a collaborative team player who respects hierarchy and supports peers.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; proficiency in English is an added advantage.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and handle hot equipment safely.
  • Positive attitude, punctuality, and a genuine passion for the culinary industry.
