Introduction
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Foreman Fitter – Supervisor of Mechanical Fitting Operations to lead our mechanical fitting team on Batam, Riau Island. This role is critical for ensuring that all mechanical installation projects are executed with precision, safety, and on schedule. The ideal candidate will combine hands‑on technical expertise with strong supervisory skills, enabling the team to meet the high standards expected by our clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily mechanical fitting activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to resolve design ambiguities and material shortages.
- Conduct on‑site inspections and quality checks, verifying that all welds, pipework, and assemblies meet applicable codes and standards.
- Mentor junior fitters, providing training on best practices, safety protocols, and the proper use of tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress logs, and documentation for audit trails and client reviews.
- Enforce strict adherence to occupational health and safety regulations, conducting toolbox talks and emergency drills.
- Identify process improvements, recommend cost‑effective solutions, and implement lean construction techniques where applicable.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including labor, machinery, and consumables, to optimize productivity.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Participate in client meetings, providing technical updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent technical qualification.
- Relevant experience in mechanical fitting, preferably in a supervisory or foreman capacity.
- Possession of industry‑recognised certifications related to mechanical fitting or pipework (e.g., ASME, API).
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals, including reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Ability to commence work immediately and adapt to a fast‑paced project environment.
- Residency in or willingness to relocate to Batam, Riau Island is highly preferred.
