Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic construction and architecture team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all material, equipment, and service acquisitions align with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed procurement plans that synchronize with the overall project timeline and budget constraints.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring they meet our rigorous quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders, contracts, and change orders, while tracking delivery schedules to prevent delays.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to interpret planning and shop drawings, guaranteeing that all procured items meet technical specifications.
- Conduct cost analysis, price negotiations, and value‑engineering discussions to achieve the best possible terms without compromising quality.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including vendor performance data, cost reports, and compliance documentation, using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and any ERP systems in place.
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate material receipt and storage, and resolve any discrepancies or damages swiftly.
- Provide regular status updates and performance metrics to senior management, highlighting potential risks and mitigation strategies.
- Support the preparation of project close‑out documentation, ensuring all purchasing activities are fully reconciled and archived.
- Foster strong, transparent relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, promoting a collaborative and ethical procurement environment.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree (D4) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in project purchasing, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret planning drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
- Strong attention to detail, high integrity, and a diligent work ethic.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and manage competing priorities.
