Introduction
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior QA/QC Engineer – Quality Assurance & Control to join our dynamic engineering team. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the quality management system across complex EPC projects in the oil & gas, mining, and marine construction sectors. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in welding, piping, structural, and mechanical engineering, ensuring that all deliverables meet rigorous international standards and client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
- Conduct thorough inspections and audits of welding, piping, structural, and mechanical works throughout construction and pre‑commissioning phases.
- Coordinate and review test packages, non‑destructive testing (NDT) procedures, and pre‑commissioning activities to guarantee conformance with applicable codes.
- Manage document control processes, ensuring accurate filing, revision control, and timely distribution of all quality records.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action initiatives using tools such as TQM, SPC, and Six Sigma.
- Support tender preparation by reviewing specifications, preparing quality plans, and advising on risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA/QC staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement, construction, and client representatives to resolve quality issues promptly.
- Ensure full compliance with international codes and standards, including ASTM, AASHTO, BS, ISO, ASME, SNI, API, EN, and DIN.
- Prepare and present regular quality performance reports, dashboards, and balance scorecards to senior management.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline (minimum S1).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands‑on QA/QC experience in welding, piping, structural, and mechanical engineering within EPC projects for oil & gas, mining, or marine construction.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven familiarity with QA/QC implementation in oil & gas, power plant, or marine sectors.
- Standards & Codes: In‑depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ASTM, AASHTO, BS, ASME, API, EN, DIN, and local standards such as SNI.
- Quality Tools: Proficiency with Total Quality Management (TQM), Quality Control Circles (QCC), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Balanced Scorecard methodologies.
- Document Management: Strong understanding of electronic document management systems (EDMS) and version control procedures.
- Technical Skills: Experience in installation oversight of piping, structures, and mechanical equipment; competence in test package preparation and pre‑commissioning activities.
- Soft Skills: Excellent teamwork, leadership, and organizational abilities; strong analytical mindset for root‑cause analysis.
- Language: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is a distinct advantage.
- Certifications (preferred): Certified Welding Engineer, ASNT Level II in Radiographic Inspection (RI), Penetrant Testing (PT) & Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Rotating Inspector (BNSP or MIGAS).
