Senior Inspection Tech (Coating) - (2103132)

Job Overview:

QC CCoating Inspector to support TYRA TEG Project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Read and to understand the Project Specification, applicable Codes and Standards, Procedures and Inspection and Test Plan, Performing Calibration of inspection and test instruments prior to use and recording in documents, able to read the user manual for coatings inspection and test instruments.
  • Enforcement and verification of work performed in accordance with specification, manufacturer recommendations and coating procedure with respective team.
  • Measure ambient conditions, surface temperature and air quality requirements, knowledge about blasting equipment, Hand tools and power tools for surface preparation and coating application.
  • Inspect Type and size of blasting media & metal surface imperfections/ steel defects before and after surface preparation.
  • Test indication of oil or water in compressed air, Test analysis of water-soluble ionic contamination of blasting media.
  • Inspect pre-cleaning, solvent cleaning of surface, Mechanical surface preparation during pre-fabrication and onsite portable centrifugal blasting, Open air blast cleaning, Vacuum blast cleaning, Hand and power tool cleaning.
  • Measure compressed air pressure, Inspect degree of cleanliness required prior to coating application as per requirements.
  • Measure surface roughness of blast cleaned surface and Inspect coating material storage conditions with Batch numbers and shelf life validity.
  • Inspect type of coating material to be used as approved, Monitor thinning, mixing, induction time and pot life.
  • Inspect type of coating Thermal Sprayed Alumunium, Passive Fire Protection, Self-leveling compounds, Anti-skid deck coatings, Coated Hot dip Galvanizing, IMPP,HSS,3LPP/E,MLPP, Insulation and its acceptance criteria.
  • Measure wet film thickness by notch gages, Non-destructive measurement of dry film thickness of non-magnetic coatings / non-conductive coatings applied to ferrous surface. Monitoring re-coating and final curing schedules.
  • Performing Test discontinuity ( holiday or pinholes ) of coatings and linings and voltage selection. Inspection of defects on coated surface evaluate Acceptable and unacceptable defects. To stop non-conforming work and inform the production supervisor of required corrective rework.
  • Documentation of the daily inspection activities and other necessary activity as per the project requirement on daily basis.
  • Follow the High standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conduct as per company requirements.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Coating Inspection inspector certification (Minimum NACE level 2 or SPC level 2 or FROSIO level 3).
  • Minimum 5 years experience as Coating Inspector.
  • Minimum Senior High School graduate or process relevant experience.
