To ensure a customer service approach to all aspects of communication, service delivery, customer satisfaction, and responsiveness
To act as a prime point of contact with the campus Department Head for the construction Supervision aspects of the project including:
Safety
Quality control
Design modifications/alterations
To be pro-active site-wide with the aim of highlighting and providing corrective action to prevent any adverse effects to the JIS community
2. Operational Management
Keep the Project Manager fully up to date with the works
Keep detailed records of all matters which may affect the Project Manager’s instructions, certificates, or other actions under the contract
Direct communications with the campus Department Head should only be to the extent that has been formally agreed in advance with the Project Manager
If the campus Department Head issues instructions to the Resident Engineer, he/she must report and discuss with the Project Manager before acting upon them
Monitor performance of subcontractors
Supervise less experienced JIS engineers
Ensure work activities are carried out in accordance with; plans, specifications, and industry standards
Ensure tests and inspections are performed according to the contract and industry standards
Liaise with Construction Management representatives to remove hazards associated with work activities
Ensure the delivered materials meet specifications and established quality standards
Initiate and maintain; records, variations/change orders, progress reports, and the like
Contribute to safety by the identification, rectification, and reporting of risks
3. Team relationships
To build teamwork to form partnerships and encourage positive relationships across all departments to bring people together
4. Financial Awareness
In coordination with the appointed QS, focus on monitoring the financial progress of the project and control the costs to meet the terms of the contract.

To communicate effectively with all members of staff
To be willing to communicate ideas with the aim of making measurable improvements to the organization
6. Personal Development
To attend seminars and remain up to date on market changes
To complete all JIS training courses relevant for the position and as required
Qualified Engineer with a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Electrical engineering
Has 10 to 15 years of experience in the construction management field.
Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Outstanding personal communication skills
Team player, conflict resolution skills, good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Proven ability to set priorities and schedule duties and assignments.
Proven ability to perform duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.
Proven ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
Willingness to be contacted 24-hour for emergency issues relating to the functional operation of the projects.
