Job Description

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma graduated or equivalent.

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

  • Experience in Hair Styling, preferably within a high end Salon/Spa or Hotel.

  • Strong knowledge about current hair styling trend.

  • Possesses certification in Hair Styling and Treatments in a duly respected Professional Salon School or organization.

  • An outgoing, active involvement in employee relations activities.

  • Eight hour shift; scheduled days and times may vary based on need.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, supervisors and managers.

  • Analyze and listen to guests styling request, taking into account all factors, and recommend hair treatment and/or styling options, which include but are not limited to shampooing, cutting, styling and coloring of hair and/or hair pieces and wigs.

  • To practice and follow all Department of Professional Regulation policies and procedures, including all sanitation and hygiene standards, as well as maintain a clean, professional work area; prepare the work area with the necessary supplies; set up and breakdown of work area.

  • To keep the guest informed of the treatment process while marketing retail items and products being used.

  • To ensure you read employee handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to company rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.

  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities which, while outside the normal routine, are within the overall scope of the position.

  • To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform/attire.

  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department personal appearance standards.

  • To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.

  • To maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments through working by The Golden Rule.

  • To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel.

  • To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.

  • To ensure a safe workplace by identifying hazards and taking corrective action.

  • Perform any other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff. Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
