Job Description
As a Test Engineer at Micron, you will be responsible for developing frameworks for monitoring and improving Engineering performance to plan, providing value-add engineering solutions, and driving continuous improvement projects in Test processes. You will also provide support in product test proliferation and excursion management activities.
Responsibilities and Tasks
PRODUCT RESPONSIBILITY
Develop frameworks for monitoring and improve Engineering performance to plan
Maintain knowledge of engineering plans, forecasts and targets
Develop systems for tracking and monitoring actual performance
Evaluate and resolve performance issues
Drive projects to improve performance to plan
Provide value-add engineering solutions to meet cycletime improvement, cost reduction and quality performance goals
Participate in Test cycletime, cost and quality improvement teams
Review and evaluate variables that contribute to cycletime, cost and quality
Develop and implement cycletime, cost and quality improvement projects
Drive continuous improvement projects in Test processes to improve operational efficiency and productivity
Maintain Test process, equipment, systems and product knowledge
Perform Test efficiency and productivity analysis
Develop and implement improvement projects
Provide support in product test proliferation activities
Activate manufacturing test readiness team
Verify production readiness
Perform production validation
Ensure qualification effectiveness and efficiency
Support Quality team in excursion management activities
Participate in Test containment and disposition activities
Perform and verify Test disposition system set ups
Execute and ensure timely disposition of deviation materials
Work closely with Test planning/manufacturing/engineering teams to ensure the smooth execution of Test manufacturing operations
Participate in Test operations review discussions
Provide tactical engineering support
Collaborate with cross-functional Central/Site teams to overcome Test operation issues and challenges

Qualifications
Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Programming/scripting knowledge will be an added advantage.
Possess good communication, inter-personal skills and able to work with multiple cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of Test processes, engineering and/or manufacturing operations will be beneficial.
Some basic knowledge of DRAM/NAND/NOR device functionalities and test platforms/systems will be added advantage.

COMMUNICATION
Ensure well documented communications to leadership, customers, and peers both locally, other Micron facilities and central organizations
Lead meetings and ensure notes are maintained for the organization
Lead Focus meetings when needed for major issues. Send updates or results of the meeting.
Drive communication of issues which impact site and independently take action to rectify issue in a timely manner
Maintain tactical updates on a daily bases and project updates on a weekly basis. Updates should show progress against the timelines.
TACTICAL RESPONSIVENESS
Drive investigation of manufacturing issues related to Test processes. Implement solutions to these issues in a timely manner
Support process excursion activities including identification, containment, notification, and implementation of corrective actions
Monitor/Evaluate equipment usage to keep production costs low
Provide timely feedback and solutions to any problems on the production floor
Investigate the root cause of equipment and/or process parameter shifts.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Drive Innovation and Improvement with the end goal of reducing the Cost of Test for Micron in Package Test Department
Drive new DFT strategies
Drive new test methodology
Perform Equipment Evaluations
Support intra-departmental (and multi-site) teams in development of new processes and capabilities to support product roadmap. Lead teams and drive development where necessary
Participate with intra-departmental (and multi-site) teams to drive, develop, and implement improvements in equipment or processes that reduce cost (e.g. reduction in scrap, rework, cycle time reduction, or increase in throughput, yield), and/or improve quality and/or reliability
Evaluate and propose process changes in other departments (where applicable) to reduce test tooling, processing costs, part functionality and or complexity
Stay current with new developments in process and testing technology
TRAINING
Actively share information with others to raise level of awareness and knowledge in the department, site, or larger industry groups
Actively engage in the development and training of new engineers in the area
Present technical information to a wide variety of audiences, including formal presentations (when necessary) to area, department, site, or larger industry groups
Keep detailed documentation on part, program, and process related issues
COST REDUCTION
As a Team Member at Micron, you are responsible for reducing costs associated with your area.
